Bognor Hospital And Nursing

Bognor Regis Hospital
http://www.westernsussexhospitals.nhs.uk/about-us/st-richards-hospital/
St Richard’s Hospital has 430 beds and provides a full range of general acute services including, maternity, outpatients, A&E and intensive care.
It also has a purpose built NHS Treatment Centre on site which offers safe, fast, pre-booked day and short stay surgery and diagnostic procedures.
The area served by the hospital is around 400 sq miles. It consists of the coastal areas of Littlehampton, Bognor, Selsey and Chichester Harbour, together with the city of Chichester and the South Downs market towns of Midhurst, Billingshurst, Pulborough, Arundel and Petworth. There is also a significant number of patients from East Hampshire.
Also – A Nurses post I found rather moving…
Dear The one Show ……. How could you, professional people showing lack of Care !!!! by giving a very one sided view of A story. I have been a nurse since I was 18. When I went for my interview at the age of 17 the chief nursing officer at the time interviewed me and said ” you will miss Christmas at home , family parties, parents evenings, sports days, you may be sworn at shouted at and hit, you will deal with more bodily fluids on a daily basis than you can imagine , you will need to examine and test those daily fluids to be able to accurately tell the dr how the patient is doing. You will see patients die, you will sit and hold their hands if they are on their own and then sit with the relatives and give them the time they need. You will then wash the patients body and perform last offices. You will do all this and still ensure that all the other patients are cared for and that the ward is immaculate. Are you sure this is what you wish to do ?
Times that by a thousand and she was right in the last 28 years I have not had one complete Christmas with my family ie Christmas Eve night, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. I have missed special family parties as my off duty did not allow and numerous school events and have been scolded by the school for missing a parents evening when I was at work caring for other people’s relatives rather than my own x
I have been involved in more bodily fluids than I ever imagined. I have been shouted at , kicked , punched, spat at, bitten and sworn at ( the swearing is usually daily )
We have also been regraded, rebranded , renamed and had numerous uniform updates, our managers titles have changed more times than I care to mention.
A patient used to be in hospital for 5 days for a small operation now they are in for 24 hours or less and it is not unusual to have two/ three patients in the same bed space during a 24 hour period, each of these patients has to be admitted and discharged.
I am proud to be a nurse and I proud of the incredible people who work at my hospital, but acknowledge that we don’t always get it right,
Each day I go to work I smile, I care passionately for my patients and the staff and if I didn’t I wouldn’t be able to go each day, please please support the good Nhs staff whilst the bad ones are removed rather than tarring everyone with the same brush…

Come Dancing is a 1982 song performed by British Rock group The Kinks, released as a single in that year in the UK and 1983 in the US and included on their album State of Confusion.
The song is a nostalgic look back at childhood memories of writer Ray Davies, remembering his older sister going on dates to the local Palais dance hall where big bands would play. The lyrics tell how the Palais has been demolished and his sister now has her own daughters who are going on dates.
The song was something of a comeback for The Kinks, being their first UK top 20 hit in over ten years (reaching number 11) and its number 6 peak on the US chart was their highest there since “Tired of Waiting for You” made the same position in 1965. It also made the top 10 in Canada (#6) and the top 20 in Sweden and Belgium. Such success was most likely spurred on in the US by the accompanying MTV Music Video, which was continually pushed and broadcast (in the style of early MTV). The song has, over the years, become one of the most popular songs on Classic Rock Radio, and remains so today.

This track simply sparkles with the magical sunshine of heaven as it spills and cascades it’s brilliance and awesome beauty, where each note is like a single Ray of sunshine. If we focus on this Ray we see a broad spectrum of talent sparkling with all the colours of the rainbow brought to us with the exceptional clarity of a genius.
Come Dancing.
